Author of the book 'Bald is Beautiful,' about her own struggle of being completely bald and having to be "different." She owns two hairless Sphynx cats (named Bella and Gizmo) and has written books about them to help children who have lost their hair, whether from a genetic condition, Alopecia or cancer treatment. These kids go through a lot of ridicule for being "different" and the story points out how Gizmo is different and shows the child how he is "unique and rare." Gizmo eventually gets brought to him another hairless cat, Bella, showing him that he is not alone. You can read more about this story and her other children's book about Bella on her website.
